My friend Kaleb is a server at Bohemian Brewery in Midvale, so he has encouraged me to come in and dine there. Our schedules aligned last week which gave me the perfect opportunity to stop in for dinner. Bohemian Brewery is a microbrewery producing traditional lagers and creating European-inspired pub cuisine. The wooden interior gives Bohemian Brewery the feeling of a comfortable lodge — a place you want to linger and dine at a leisurely pace. Feeling comfortable starts at the front door where courteous hosts greet you and make you feel welcome.
Not having eaten there before, I was open to recommendations. First, Kaleb recommended that I start with a Czech pilsener which is a house favorite that blends pilsener malt and saaz hops. It proved to be a very good choice as the flavor was hearty and well-balanced, but not too bitter from the hops. Next, Kaleb suggested that I try the Bohemian schnitzel which comes with a choice of lightly breaded chicken or pork, garlic mashed potatoes, beurre blanc sauce, and steamed vegetables. I opted for chicken which was very tender, and the breading was delicate and crispy. The beurre blanc sauce had a hint of lemon which complemented the savoriness of the meat. The vegetables were lightly seasoned as well which added to the overall flavor of the dish. I finished the meal by indulging my sweet tooth with a serving of apple strudel. The strudel arrived beautifully presented with a scoop of vanilla ice cream, freshly whipped cream, sliced strawberries, and mint leaves. It was the perfect, subtly sweet ending to a lovely experience.
From drinks to dessert, with attentive service in between, Bohemian Brewery is a worthy choice when dining out. Whether you have been there many times before, or you are a first-time guest, I recommend putting it on your list of places to go. Bohemian Brewery is located at 94 East 7200 South in Midvale, Utah.
