Stella Grill

Spring has finally arrived in Salt Lake City. Nice weather inspires going out rather than staying in, so I chose to eat dinner at Stella Grill in Millcreek. Stella Grill is a dressy casual eatery that is part of Pub Group Restaurants that includes Martine Cafe, Red Butte Cafe, and Desert Edge Brewery. I recommend Desert Edge Brewery at Trolley Square when you are in the downtown SLC area.

I have eaten at Stella Grill twice before: once with a friend where we shared some appetizers and dessert, and once by myself where I had the cheese enchiladas. Tonight, I decided to try something new and ordered the beer battered cod tacos served with black beans, corn succotash, and tortilla salad. The beer batter was crispy while the fish remained tender and flaky. A jalapeño remoulade, roasted salsa, and cabbage garnished the tacos, giving them a spicy-sweet-cool flavor profile that I really enjoyed. The side dishes complemented the tacos well and added a bit of smoky sweetness to the meal. I particularly liked the sweetness of the salsa on the tortilla salad. My server, Ben, provided attentive, courteous service that enhanced the overall quality of my experience.

I definitely will return to Stella Grill and recommend it as an enjoyable place to go, whether you have been there before, or you are looking to try somewhere new.

Stella Grill is located at 4291 South 900 East in Millcreek. They are open Monday through Saturday from 11:30 to 9:00. Patio dining, beer, wine, and spirits are available. You can read more about Stella Grill here.
